Testing Your Browser
Before submitting a help desk request if you are unable to log into the VCL using your Web Browser, you should complete the following steps in order to determine if you browser is compatible with the virtual computing lab.
As a general rule any device that supports HTML 5 and JavaScript will be supported for the VCL.
There is also an older Java client that requires that your computer be loaded with a current Java Runtime Environment (SE 1.5 or greater).
Either the Java client or the HTML5 client can be used depending upon whether your device will support the Java client.
If you are unsure if your client has support for HTML 5, you can access the following URL using your device which will test its ability to support HTML 5 and JavaScript.
http://www.criticalchoices.org/browserTest.html
The criticalchoices test must indicate that JavaScript passed or the HTML 5 browser will not be supported.
For the HTML 5 Test, the sections of elements, 2D graphics, and output should be green. If they are not you can test your browser and it may have some issues using the HTML 5/JavaScript client.
The VCL has been tested with several browsers on Android Tablets and Phones, iPad devices, Windows devices, and some gaming consoles so there should be wide support for your device.
